The UK's involvement in Iraq, etc after 9/11 opposed by moral belief from day one. Me and my Girlfriend marched on 2 antiwar protests in London, UK (clearly 2 million pissed off people parading around London wasn't enough - but at least we aired our views "MAKE TEA - NOT WAR". This piece of work contains a track by one of metals finest gods : Dave Mustaine [from Megadeth], namely "Devil's Island" (ie: our world and greedy US/UK fiends). At last, the vast majority of MY poems are now available for the WHOLE world to see. Covering aspects associated to many areas of LIFE.

WORDS are indeed a powerful media, a massively influencing forms of communication.... words are what have evolved from grunts and inscriptions finger drawn in sand.

How did I get into poetry and writing in general ?

Since 7 to 8 years old when I first started learning storywriting in English. I wrote a story about a tree that ate people (they were still alive and could walk around the inside of the tree) and one about a massive staircase ascending into the sky - which led to a cuboid glass complex (like infrastructure of a Borg ship) at Middle School !!!

Next main accolade inspired me from a couple of mates, Kieran Spurr and Dave Lamb. We were the only 3 guys in Home Economics (Cookery) [this is last 2 years of High School]. I was in HE as I moved school and couldn't take computing as an option as all the places had been taken !!!!!

So subsequently we (the 3 of us) tended to F*&^ around a fair bit (having a table to ourselves too !!!! :) -savoured memories - :).

I wrote a story one day during a HE lesson called "HE Revision is Crap" which caused much laughter from my table - then I went from strength to strength.

During High School I got into a fair bit of trouble (got caned twice, countless detentions, lines for taking p*&& out of swimming tutor, banished to outside classrooms, put on special report, told to be quiet 1,233,454 times during years of 1984 to 1988.

Lots of mad stuff was going through my mind back then, I was tripping on acid after I left school. I ended up going on a "Get the kids of the streets scheme" - referred to by the then conservashitive government as a "Youth Training Scheme". Tripping was great fun, I remember walking into the Kings Arms on Northgate Street in Yarmouth totally blottoed on them - all my mates were pissed (all underage - no one gave "as much" as a f^%k" in those days) and there I was tripping by eye sockets out. WEIRD how the memory stuck !!

Naturally my writing continued - I was well into my metal by this time and there was nothing I enjoyed more that listening to a bit of Pestilence, Bolt Thrower or Megadeth (to name but 3) with a FN massive Herbie in my hand and a pen in the other.

After I tripped my brain into a state of close disrepair my affiliation with LSDic journeys came to an abrupt end.

......cue another recollection......

Was working down amusement arcade (Golden Nugget on Yarmouth seafront), was Tuesday evening (had Wed and Thurs off) - so I planned to spend them tripping.

Sorted the deed - £5 for 3 flying keys. Put them in matchbox, continued work.

How many ::: 1 now 2 tomorrow or 2 now and 1 tomorrow ??

This question appeared to me in a very Shakespearean manner - I decided to choose the 3rd undefined factor (like the silly inexperienced trip-artist that I was) - which was TAKING ALL 3................ OOOOPS, whatta a mistakea toa makea.

Took all an hour before I left work so I would be "fleeing" by the time I got home - fleeing out of my tiny mind I was later to discover.

Was around 23:40-midnight, Prisoner Cell Block H was on or was about to, or had ended when suddenly my body went into convulsionary overload.

I remember having my name shouted at me loudly by my BRUVVA - I came around from wherever the f*&^ it was - that I was. My mind was filled with all sorts of shit literally flying around at 1,000 miles an hour.

As metaphors go I think this defines the experience well; Imagine an hourglass/egg timer. It is figure 8 shape. Imagine our brain like a figure 8 - we think our thoughts which are then channeled before speaking. The channel is the fuse.

Imagine now all the sand in the hour glass travelling though that confined space all at once - the hourglass would be very likely to break. Our brains are no different.

They say your life flashes before your eyes before you die so I know I came close as I seen all sorts of stuff during and after that episode.

.....When back at work I was an emotion wreck BIG TIME, and I mean REALLY BIG TIME. I would walk around polishing machines when I would 'just' FLASHBACK and see images that I saw during the experiece - talk about disorientating.

I saw (I think) an older version of myself during the experience who was VERY ANNOYED with me. Not going into graphical detail, I not thought about this shit for ages now - and I tell you I was scared shitless of myself for some time after the experience.

BUT HOW IS ALL THIS RELEVANT

Many of you will already know that taking LSD and magic mushrooms WILL HAVE a MASSIVE influence on your over all perception, outlook and appreciation for LIFE. This is true in my works.

Over the years (tripping stopped at 21, I am now 35 (till 2009) I got over myself and did trip ONCE again, to prove to myself that I was not scared of my own psychee/ID/spirit or whatever you want to call it.

I knew that being a creative person my trips could transcent into a reality only real to me - leaving in reality seen by others the complete opposite.

So yeah, tripping and getting wasted on grass and speed in my late teens to early twenties was a part of my life I do not regret.

The things I experienced and the ways I feel are all relevant to SMAZOGZ, the person I have become - an ethreal hybrid existing in a protoplasmic landscape grafted by sand ants......
